By leaps and bounds jQuery, as well as similar JavaScript libraries, has become one of the most powerful web developer tool for adding animations and interactivity to web pages.

jQuery is a lightweight cross-browser JavaScript library that emphasizes interaction between JavaScript and HTML.

Among the major benefits jQuery delivers is the ability to add motion effects and interactive features that don’t require a web page reloading. Besides, it’s much easier and faster to learn and in many cases it can be a decent alternative to Flash templates. No doubt, Flash has a way more extensive list of features, which makes it a preferable option for creating some complex multimedia, audio/video players, animation and 3D. However, when it comes to designing some particular website elements, like slideshows, drop down menus, validation forms, popups/tooltips, expandable elements, etc, jQuery can be a more effective and time-saving solution.

In this post you can find a showcase of beautiful websites built with jQuery. Look through the collection, get inspired and try jQuery for your own projects! It’s especially easy now that FlashMint offers sleek UI powered jQuery templates which enable you to create a fancy, flash-like yet fast loading website at ease.

  2. Joseph McCullough says:

Thank you for the collection. I have not really dived into Javascript like I want to yet, but I REALLY plan on it. From what I’ve read however, it seems like Javascript tends to be implemented more with the developers ego in mind instead of the user. I’ve bookmarked this site as a reference so I can get some inspiration from user oriented Javascript. Thanks again, great post.
