Flash CMS V1 Description
Flash CMS is a product, which we've been working on for more than two years now. Basically Flash CMS v.1 is a user-friendly interface to handle a picture gallery website. This product was developed for the needs of photographers, artists or anyone else willing to run a nice and easy-editable Flash gallery. Admin interface of our CMS v.1 templates allows you to edit galleries online, which is fast and comfortable.

The Admin Panel of Flash CMS v.1 is purely dedicated to galleries management, while the template content is being edited with .xml files.
Using the admin panel you will be able to:
  1. Create/Edit/Delete gallery categories;



  2. Add/Substitute/Delete photos;



  3. Set gallery default photos - the image that will be displayed on the main page of the template to enter the gallery (optional)
  4. Add/Edit/Remove image titles
  5. Add/Edit/Remove image descriptions
The installation of this Flash CMS Template is as simple as it could possibly be. You just need to copy the content of your zip archive to your server www root directory, add write permissions to cgal.xml and gallery folder (and all subdirectories) and your website is up and running! You do not need MySQL or any other database to run it. It can run on any Unix or Windows host with php4/php5 and xml support enabled.

However this pilot version of Flash CMS Platform has some disadvantages:
  • Sometimes a template design doesn't allow adding unlimited number of galleries;
  • There's no easy way to manage the order of galleries and pictures, other than re-adding them;
  • You cannot manage the actual website design with admin panel.


Nevertheless, CMS idea survived and developed thanks to all your tickets and letters with complains recommendations and suggestions. They were deeply analyzed and led to developing our next version of admin panel: Flash CMS v.2

Notes: You should have PHP functions 'domxml_new_doc' and 'domxml_open_file' enabled to run the template. And PHP SAFE MODE should be DISABLED.

Security: It is suggested that you password protect the admin folder of the template. This can be done through the Control Panel of your hosting account
